ABOUT

Beliefs

Lakeview Bible Church is affiliated with the Fellowship of Evangelical Churches.

Below is a list of what we believe:

  • In one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons: All three, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, are eternal in being, identical in essence, equal in power and glory, and have the same attributes and perfections (Deuteronomy 6:4; 2 Corinthians 13:14).
  • That Jesus Christ is true God and true man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life on earth, and died on the cross, a sacrifice for our sins, in fulfillment of the Scriptures. Further, He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, where, at the right hand of God the Father, He is now our High Priest and Advocate (Luke 1:35; John 1:1-2, 14; Acts 1:9-10; Romans 3:24-25; 4:25; 8:34; Ephesians 1:7; 1 Timothy 4:10; Hebrews 2:9; 7:25; 9:24; 1 Peter 1:3-5; 2:24; 2 Peter 2:1; 1 John 2:1-2).
  • That the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, and during this age, to convict men of sin, regenerate the believing sinner, and indwell, guide, instruct and empower the believer for godly living and service (John 16:8-11, 13; 2 Corinthians 3:6; 1 Corinthians 12:12-14; Romans 8:9; Ephesians 1:13-14; 5:18; 1 John 2:20, 27).
  • The Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, to be the only inspired Word of God, the final authority for faith and life, inerrant in the original writings, infallible and God-breathed (Matthew 5:18; John 16:12-13; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21).
  • That man was created in the image of God but fell into sin. As a result, we are born into sin and are therefore lost, and only by repenting of our sin and placing one’s faith in Christ, and through the regeneration by the Holy Spirit can salvation and spiritual life be obtained (Genesis 1:26-27; Romans 3:22-23; 5:12; Ephesians 2:1-3, 12).
  • That the shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only basis for justification and salvation for all who believe, and only those who receive Jesus Christ are born of the Holy Spirit, and become children of God (John 1:12; Ephesians 1:7; 2:8-10; 1 Peter 1:18-19).
  • That water baptism and the Lord’s Supper are ordinances to be observed by the Church until the return of Christ. They are not to be regarded as a means of salvation (Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 2:41-42; 18:8; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26).
  • That the true Church is composed of people who, through saving faith in Jesus Christ, have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit and are united together in the Body of Christ, of which He is the Head (Ephesians 1:22-23; 5:25-27; 1 Corinthians 12:12-14; 2 Corinthians 11:2).
  • In the literal and imminent return to earth second coming) of our Lord Jesus Christ and that this truth has a vital bearing on the personal life and service of the believer. The believers living during His second coming will be “caught up” to join Christ (Zechariah 14:4-11; 1 Thessalonians 1:10; 4:13-18; 5:9; Titus 2:13; Revelation 3:10; 19:11-16).
  • In the bodily resurrection of the dead of the believer to everlasting blessedness and joy with the Lord, and the unbeliever to judgment and everlasting separation and punishment (Matthew 25:46; John 5:28-29; 11:25-26; Revelation 20:5-6, 12-13).

Mike Rice

SENIOR PASTOR
I was raised in a loving with home where my parents believed in God and they made sure that church was a part of our lives. Through that influence I received Christ at a young age. I was baptized in my junior high years. I was very active in my youth group and bible quiz teams. Sometime between my Junior/ Senior year I received my call to ministry. I received my degree in pastoral ministries and my major in Bible from Fort Wane Bible / Summit Christian College. I spent about 13 years in youth ministry and then felt the call of God to preach. It has been a joy to serve Lakeview Bible as Senior Pastor since August of 2008. We have seen God work in incredible ways and we look forward to see what He will do in future as we faithfully follow Him.

It is wonderful to be part of a local body of believers who love the Lord and are committed to His Word! It is an honor to serve both in the Adult and Worship Ministries by encouraging others in their walks with the Lord through His Word and promoting authentic worship as a body. I have an incredible wife, Heidi, and four wonderful kids, Anna, Brielle, Alivia, and Lincoln. I enjoy spending time with family, investing in the lives of other believers, and spending time out in God’s creation.

Ministries at Lakeview
At Lakeview, our hope and prayer is to be a vessel the Lord uses to encourage, challenge, and grow you in your relationship with Jesus Christ. Our desire is that you would find a home here where you can utilize and sharpen your gifts for the glory of God and the benefit of the body of Christ. Below are a few of the ministries offered and the specific ways we hope to achieve this greater goal:
Worship Ministry:
Worship is our response to God for Who He is and for what He has done for us. The Worship Ministry exists to promote and cultivate a correct understanding and proper response to the glory of God and the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our desire is to see God glorified as we worship Him together as a body through service, music, prayer, giving, and the teaching and receiving of the Word of God.

Our music style is a blended style, with a combination of contemporary and traditional elements. We strive to provide an atmosphere where God is central, therefore all can worship freely and comfortably as one body.

For more detailed information regarding our Worship Ministry or if you’re interested in serving in this ministry, please contact Pastor Dave at (208) 466-9174.
Adult Ministry:
The Adult Ministry serves to build up adults in the knowledge of God’s Word so that they can better know and serve Him. We strive to provide excellent instruction from the Bible and tools for believers to daily study His Word. Our goal is for God’s Word to transform the way that we think and change the way that we live. There are several ways that you can grow through the Adult Ministries, including Sunday School, Small Groups, and several mid-week Bible Studies.

For more detailed information regarding our Adult Ministries or if you’re interested in being involved in these ministries, please contact Pastor Dave at (208) 466-9174.
Women’s Ministry:
The mission of the Women’s Ministry at Lakeview is to build lasting friendships and strengthen women in their relationships with Christ through Bible studies, outreach, and fellowship opportunities.

For more detailed information regarding Women’s events or specific studies being offered, please contact the Church Office at (208) 466-9174.
Pursuit — Young Adult Ministry

At Pursuit, our desire is to see young adults mature in their walk with Jesus Christ as they navigate a pivotal phase of life. During this transitional period, one’s faith in Christ is tested often as they strive to live out the foundational truths of Scripture. Our goal is to provide stability by providing a weekly small group setting focused on worship, the study of the Word, prayer, and fellowship. The Pursuit is currently taking a break throughout the course of the summer and will resume early in the Fall.

For additional information regarding Pursuit, please contact Micah Good at (208) 936-0443.

Youth Ministry

The hope of the Youth Ministry at Lakeview is to come alongside parents in the discipling of their kids. Our mission is to develop disciples of Jesus who are equipped and actively engaged in making disciples. Through weekly studies, missions, and service, we aim to fully equip each youth for ministry upon transitioning out of this critical stage of life.

There are several ways to get plugged into the

Youth Ministry at Lakeview:

Sunday School begins at 9:30. The Senior High class is currently working through a study on the book of James. The Junior High class is progressing through a series on Dynamic Christian Living.

Our Sunday evening studies meet from 5:00pm-7:00pm. The Junior and Senior High are both going through the book of 1 Samuel individually.
For Wednesday evenings, we are working through a study of the book of Acts-the Spirit Moving. This begins at 6:30 with a time of food and fellowship, followed by teaching and small groups.

Another primary way to get involved with the Youth is through our annual mission trip. Check with Pastor Brandon for more details!

Children’s Ministry

The mission of the children’s ministry is to partner with parents to help children know Jesus, grow in Jesus, and sow Jesus. Through our studies and activities, the children learn how to pray, give, and become involved in local and global missions.
There are four primary ways to serve or get plugged in to our Children’s Ministry: Sunday School, Children’s Church, AWANA, and Kicks for Christ.

Our Sunday School classes are designed to help kids grow in their love for Jesus and knowledge of the Bible. We use Discipleland curriculum which seeks to train children to be dynamic disciples of Jesus Christ-kids who know God intimately, love Him passionately, and serve Him selflessly. Sunday school begins at 9:30 am.

At Lakeview, we offer Children’s Church each week for children ages 3-5th grade. Children are invited to participate in a vibrant time where children actively worship, sing, and pray. Object lessons are used to present biblical principles and truths necessary for the children’s spiritual development. We are currently walking through Old Testament stories, learning about men and women who trusted God and understanding God’s response to them. Our hope is that through gearing Church toward kids and at a level they can benefit from, they begin to practice and enjoy worship and a time of Bible study.

The fourth Sunday of each month is Missions Sunday. This time is focused on themes of commitment to Christ and being a light in a dark world. We strive to highlight the fact that children have an important role in the kingdom of God by presenting and illustrating true stories of missionaries. These examples bring to life real situations where Christians have remained faithful. Puppets also enhance the missions theme for that day. Visiting missionaries occasionally participate and share their ministry with the children.

During the school year, AWANA clubs meet at Lakeview on Sundays from 5:00-7:00 pm. AWANA trains kids to prioritize God’s Word and maintain a biblical mindset in all things. Each evening of AWANA, kids will go through handbook time, council time, and game time. The handbooks focus on Scripture memorization while council time is filled with Bible and missionary stories. The 2017-2018 Registration Form and Calendar are available here

One of our primary avenues of outreach is our annual Kicks for Christ-Lakeview’s version of Vacation Bible School. Through Bible-centered teaching, each child is exposed to the Gospel of Jesus Christ as well as given an opportunity to build peer relationships and improve their soccer skills. This year, Kicks for Christ will be June 11-15, 6:30-8:30 pm.
